WHAT IS A LEGAL SERVICES PLAN?
Think of it as affordable "legal protection" that operates just like many major
health care plans. The Educator's Shield group plan will be administered through
the Broward County School Board's benefits and human resources department
as a complement to the existing benefit plans currently in place.

WHO ARE WE?
U.S. Legal Services was founded in 1974 and dedicated from the beginning
to provide the broadest and most comprehensive legal service plan available
to consumers anywhere in the United States. There are many types of legal
plans in the market today. Some provide consultation only; some offer
discounted attorney's fees; and some provide a toll-free number where an
attorney may be located in another city or state. Our plan is designed so that
the client will have access to an attorney in the community where they live or
work. In operation, the plan is simple. Plan members are provided with an
identification card containing the name and telephone number of the local,
designated attorney. The plan member does not need to consult us for approval
nor do they need to complete a claim form. They simply call their designated
attorney and set up an appointment to meet with him/her and the low monthly
premium they pay allows them to meet with their own attorney without paying
expensive attorney's fees.
